Which Journalists Will Be Able to Access the National Assembly: The Rules Are Changing
According to the newspaper 'Zhoghovurd', the procedure for journalist accreditation in parliament is set to change.
According to our information, the changes have been authored by two deputies: former journalist Sisak Gabrielyan and former actor Hrachya Hakobyan. They have presented these amendments to the Speaker of the National Assembly.
In recent days, they have been meeting with NA Speaker Alen Simonyan to discuss which journalists will be allowed access to parliament, whom to strip of accreditation, and what the accreditation procedure should generally entail.
Our sources indicate that representatives of the government are trying, at all costs, to tighten the criteria for entering parliament by establishing certain standards, such as print circulation for newspapers and view counts for websites.
In short, new accreditation rules will come into effect for journalists covering the autumn session of the National Assembly, which will result in many media outlets and journalists being excluded from the competition and not having access to the NA.
