New Directive in the Case of Movses Hakobyan

The newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’ reports that there is a new directive regarding the case of Movses Hakobyan. The political authorities have not been satisfied with limiting the criminal case of the former head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Movses Hakobyan, in the judicial information system.

There is already a directive to conduct the court hearing behind closed doors. The National Security Service (NSS) initiated a criminal case against Movses Hakobyan for disclosing state secrets, as he had made several high-profile revelations regarding the course of the war.

The case was assigned to Judge Vache Margaryan, who refused to look into it, stating that he had served under Hakobyan and had received commendation from him. As a result, the case was assigned to Judge Manvel Shahverdyan, who has been instructed to hold the hearing in a closed session, as required.

Judging by the situation, the authorities fear that Movses Hakobyan may present evidence in court regarding the war that could create an uncomfortable situation if made public. Therefore, the best solution to curb the situation is to close the judicial information system and conduct the court hearing behind closed doors.
