Arrest Made for Arson of Police Vehicle

On August 16, the investigation department of the Lori regional investigative committee, under the direction of an investigator, arrested 57-year-old Mehr S. from the Lori region. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, he is suspected of burning a police vehicle registered to the Tumanyan division parked on the left side of the Lorut-Martz highway on August 15.

The suspect was summoned to the police station, where he confessed to the crime and detailed the method of execution. He stated that he took gasoline from a plastic container in the trunk of his vehicle, poured it onto a piece of cloth, and then threw it into the police VAZ 22106 vehicle, which resulted in the car being set on fire.

Suspect Mehr S. has been taken to a detention facility at one of the police departments in Vanadzor.
