Thousands Evacuated in France Due to Forest Fire

Thousands of people have been evacuated in southern France, where a forest fire is raging near the resort city of Saint-Tropez, according to the fire service.

As reported by Al Jazeera, around 750 firefighters and water-dropping aircraft are battling the blaze under difficult conditions with high temperatures and strong winds.

“Thousands of people have been evacuated as a precaution, but there are no casualties,” a fire service representative said on Tuesday, adding that the fire is “still very intense.”
