Russia Calls on Afghanistan

Russia calls on all parties in Afghanistan to refrain from military operations and support a peaceful resolution. This was stated by Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We urge all involved parties in Afghanistan to abstain from armed actions and to support a peaceful resolution,” said Nebenzya. He noted that only 10 days had passed since the last discussions in the council, during which the situation in Afghanistan has changed dramatically.
