Current Situation in Gegharkunik Province: Insights from Community Leaders of Kut and Verin Shorja

The current situation in Gegharkunik Province along the contact line is calm. In an interview with MediaHub.am, the administrative head of the Kut community, Sima Chitchyan, reported that there were no gunfire incidents overnight. “There were shots fired yesterday evening, but the situation has been calm overnight and there are no shots at this moment,” she said.

In our discussion, the head of the Verin Shorja administrative region, Artyom Yeranosyan, stated that there have been no shootings in the community in recent days, and there are none currently.

It is important to note that yesterday, on August 16, the enemy opened fire on our positions in the Gegharkunik and Yeraskh areas. The Armenian side has reported two fatalities.
