Video: 13,576 kg of Cannabis and Over 6 kg of Wild Poppy Plants Discovered and Destroyed
On August 10, the "Cannabis-Poppy-2021" comprehensive operational-preventive measure was launched, aimed at identifying and destroying wild-growing plants containing prohibited drugs and preventing, detecting, and revealing cases of illegal drug trafficking in Armenia. This information was provided by the Armenian Police.
From August 10 to 15, 13,576 kg of cannabis and over 6 kg of wild poppy plants were discovered and destroyed through burning. A total of 3,289 cannabis plants were found on 76 plots of land. A total of 2,367 grams of marijuana and various amounts of methamphetamine, alpha "PVP" drugs, and psychoactive pills were seized from illegal drug trafficking. Thanks to conducted explanatory work, cases of voluntary surrender of illegal weapons and ammunition were also recorded. Additionally, 30 persons wanted by law enforcement were identified. The operational-preventive measure continues.
