Urgent: 19-Year-Old Soldier Dies from Gunshot Wound from Enemy Fire

On August 16 at approximately 18:10, Azerbaijani Armed Forces units once again provoked a confrontation by opening fire from various calibers of firearms towards Armenian positions located in the Gegharkunik region along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

As a result of the intense exchange of fire, a soldier from the Armenian Armed Forces, Private Arman Hovhannisyan Hakobyan, born in 2002, sustained a fatal gunshot wound from enemy fire.

The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia shares in the deep sorrow of this loss and expresses its condolences to the family members, relatives, and colleagues of the fallen soldier.

As a result of the counter-actions undertaken by the Armenian side, the enemy has suffered at least three casualties and injuries.
