Three-Month Training Gatherings to Be Held in Armenia
From August 25 to November 25, 2021, training gatherings for reservists will be held in Armenia. A draft decision by the government titled "On declaring training gatherings and involving vehicles from the bodies responsible for military transportation obligations" was recently published on the unified platform for the publication of legal acts.
According to the draft, it is planned to involve a total of up to 110 vehicles from military transportation obligations to ensure the gatherings. The government's decision plans to declare training gatherings for reservists registered in the first category of the first group of the reserve, including ordinary, non-commissioned, and commissioned officer personnel.
According to the project presented by the Ministry of Defense, a total of up to 2,169 citizens are expected to be involved in the training gatherings, of which 1,164 are ordinary personnel, 254 are non-commissioned officers, and 751 are reserve officers with specialties in motorized infantry, missile and artillery, communications, reconnaissance, and engineering.
"The training gatherings are declared for the purpose of improving and retraining the military capabilities of reservists and engaging them in combat duty as necessary according to the contract signed with them," states the draft decision.
According to the justifications of the draft, the adoption of the decision is due to the necessity to involve human resources and vehicles for training gatherings and combat duty to strengthen the combat duty of the Armenian Armed Forces.
After the government's decision is adopted, an additional 3 billion 27 million 611 thousand Armenian drams will be needed for its implementation. The expenses will be covered by the funds allocated to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia as well as from the reserve fund of the Armenian government.
