Armenian Foreign Ministry Issues Statement
Currently, there is no information regarding the presence of Armenian citizens in Afghanistan. Vahan Hunanyan, the spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, reported this information on the official Facebook page.
He stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been working through various channels on this issue and has made clarifications. "It should also be noted that no applications have been received from Armenian citizens," he wrote. The clarification efforts are ongoing.
The situation in Afghanistan has particularly escalated in recent weeks with the Taliban's assaults on major cities (the movement is recognized as terrorist and is banned in Russia). On Sunday, media outlets reported that the militants control all border crossings. Later, the insurgents announced that they had entered Kabul and taken control of the presidential palace.
