Details of the Kotayk Province Accident: Identities of the Deceased and Two Injured Revealed
On August 13, a tragic car accident and fire occurred in Kotayk Province. At approximately 4:45 AM, a 'Mercedes' vehicle left the roadway in the administrative area of the village of Dzoraghbyur on the Mayakovski-Dzoraghbyur highway under unknown circumstances, collided with a guardrail, and then traveled about 15 meters into a field.
As a result of the collision, a fire broke out in the vehicle, reports shamshyan.com. According to the source, the individuals inside the car—27-year-old Anania Hakobyan, 24-year-old Mesrop Mkrtchyan, and 26-year-old Ara Tovmasyan—sustained injuries and were transported to the Abovyan Medical Center. On the way, M. Mkrtchyan died.
A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department under Part 2 of Article 242 of the Republic of Armenia's Criminal Code. By the investigator's order, the vehicle has been moved to a designated area preserved by the Kotayk police. The police and the investigative department are working to ascertain the driver's identity.
