Arrest of Armed Criminal 'Koko' Sought for Serious Crimes
On August 10, law enforcement agencies carried out a special operation in the center of the capital, named 'Koko Jambo', as reported by shamshyan-com.
The main department of criminal police received operational information that Konstantin Hunanian, a 31-year-old resident of Yerevan, who has been wanted since 2020 for particularly serious crimes and is known by the nickname 'Koko', was at an apartment in one of the buildings in the Central administrative district of Yerevan.
At that moment, the information was reported to the law enforcement agencies, which then cordoned off his hiding place. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and illegal possession and use of weapons, and was subsequently transferred to the police station, where he was presented to the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia for especially important cases concerning crimes against a person.
According to the source, during the neutralization of 'Koko', he could not use the pistol and the homemade submachine gun, as he was asleep in bed with the weapons.
Earlier, the source reported that on May 14, operatives from the main department of criminal police of the RA, along with officers from the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan city police, carried out a special operation in Kotayk region, dubbed 'Proshyan Shawarma'. Operational information had been received by the Yerevan city police department that suspects wanted by the police for the murder case of 'Shengavit's Kshaz Ashot', namely 31-year-old Tigran Hakobyan, known as 'Talin', and 22-year-old Hamlet Torosyan, known as 'Hamulik', were located in one of the areas of the Proshyan sovkhoz.
The police acted swiftly and arrested and neutralized them in Proshyan sovkhoz, and they were then transported to the Yerevan city police department, where they were presented to the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Yerevan.
