Man Reports Falling on Street with 3-Year-Old Child; Police Determine They Were Hit by a Car

On August 12, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At approximately 4:25 PM, the Gavar Medical Center contacted the Gavar police department, reporting that a 34-year-old resident of Sarukhan village, Yerjanik D., was admitted with injuries diagnosed as "closed traumatic chest and abdominal injuries, and a rupture of the abdominal wall." A 3-year-old resident of Sarukhan, Alex L., was also brought in, diagnosed with "right eye socket injury and hematoma."

According to shamshyan.com, doctors at the hospital reported that Yerjanik D. claimed that they sustained their injuries after falling on H. Abrahamyan street in Sarukhan village. However, the police officers from Gavar and the 4th platoon of the 2nd traffic police battalion quickly determined that Yerjanik D.'s statements were far from the truth.

At around 4:00 PM on the same day, 76-year-old Henrikh M. from Lanjaghbyur village was driving a VAZ 217030 vehicle on H. Abrahamyan street in Sarukhan when he struck Yerjanik D. and Alex L. Subsequently, he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Mercedes car driven by 48-year-old Artyom K., also a resident of Sarukhan.

The investigation at the scene was led by Bakur Saribekyan, a senior investigator from the same platoon, who is preparing materials regarding the incident.
