Illegal Weapons and Ammunition Handed Over to Police Departments

Thanks to the explanatory work of officers at the Malatia Police Department, a resident of Zeytun Street brought in his deceased father's "Kalashnikov" rifle and 62 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition. Another man living in Yerevan also handed over a "Kalashnikov" rifle and ammunition to the Kanaker-Zeytun Police Department as a result of the explanatory work carried out by the department's officers and veterans, according to the Police Department's website.

The explanatory work of the officers from the Central, Shengavit, and Davidashen divisions of the Yerevan city police was also effective, leading to the voluntary surrender of firearms and ammunition.

Moreover, through the explanatory efforts of the Lori regional police and Bazum's division, a man brought a "Kalashnikov" machine gun and ammunition to the Bazum Division, claiming he had brought them from Artsakh. A case of voluntary surrender of a rifle and ammunition was also recorded at the Tavush Police Department.

Effective was also the explanatory work conducted by the police in Jermuk, where a man voluntarily surrendered a "Kalashnikov" rifle and ammunition brought from Artsakh. Cases of voluntary surrender of various types of firearms and ammunition were also recorded at the Meghri, Akhuryan, and Metsamor police departments.

The police urge individuals to voluntarily surrender illegal weapons and ammunition to avoid criminal liability.
