Major Accident on Yerevan-Eraskh Highway: One Fatality and Injured

On August 10, at 05:11, the Ararat regional crisis management center received a report about a traffic accident near the "Armenia" restaurant. It was noted that there were injured parties. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A firefighting and rescue unit from the regional rescue department of the Ministry was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a "Volkswagen Golf" vehicle (driver S. T., born in 1979) had gone off the roadway at the 32nd km of the Yerevan-Eraskh highway and collided with an electric pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Before the rescuers arrived, the passenger A. G. (born in 1979) was hospitalized at the Artashat Medical Center, where doctors assessed the passenger's condition as satisfactory. The rescuers recovered the driver's body from the vehicle and brought it closer to the ambulance, cut off the vehicle's power, and closed the gas cylinder valve.
