Argument Between Residents of Vanadzor Ends in Stabbing

The investigation conducted by the Lori regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee has revealed that on August 4, 2021, at around 15:00, a 21-year-old resident of Vanadzor encountered a 46-year-old fellow citizen at the intersection of Shirakatsi and Zoryan streets. During a dispute regarding the cancellation of the engagement with the latter’s daughter, the young man intentionally stabbed the older man twice with a knife, causing life-threatening injuries.

This information was provided by the information and public relations department of the RA Investigative Committee.

Based on sufficient evidence collected, the young man has been charged under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code. The investigator has submitted a motion to the court to apply detention as a measure of restraint.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

Note: The suspect in the alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, by a legally binding court verdict.
