Being Detained Is Not an Obstacle to Receiving Parliamentary Mandates: Mukuchyan

Being detained is not an obstacle to receiving parliamentary mandates. This was stated by Tigran Mukuchyan, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, during a conversation with reporters after the latest extraordinary session called by the CEC.

“The record of granting mandates has already been prepared, and if you were attentive, the names of the deputies you pointed out (the detained group) were also read. This means that the mentioned deputies will also receive their mandates and have the opportunity to carry out their activities. However, the ways and methods of that activity are regulated by other legislation. Dear journalists, I am not the one to answer further questions on this; I am responding to the issue as the Chairman of the CEC,” he said.
