Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense Issues Statement: Casualties Reported

The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has recently issued a statement, once again attempting to distort the situation at the border and present it according to the interests of their country.

"As a result of shelling from the Armenian armed forces, an Azerbaijani soldier has been wounded. The incident occurred around 17:50. The illegal Armenian armed groups located in the area where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed have shelled the units of the Azerbaijani armed forces. Sakit Dadashov was injured. The command of the Russian peacekeepers and the forces of the Russian-Turkish monitoring center have been informed about this incident for investigation," the statement from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reads.

It should be noted that earlier we reported that shooting had been provoked by the Azerbaijani side in the border area of the Vorotn Shorja village of Gegharkunik province.
