Robbery at a Secondary School Teacher's Home in Tavush Region: Large Sums of USD, RUB, Euro, and AMD Stolen
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, the Tavush regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding a particularly large theft.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the case was initiated based on a report from 65-year-old S. Santrosyan, a resident of one of the villages in Tavush, on July 1.
On that day, S. Santrosyan contacted the Dilijan police department and reported that between 4 PM and 8 PM, an unknown individual or individuals had used technical means to open the doors of both the first and second floors of his home, completely ransacking the house and stealing money from his bedroom closet.
According to G. Shamshyan's information, S. Santrosyan informed the arriving police and investigators that he had lost $15,000, 16,000 Russian rubles, 200 euros, and 2 million 500 thousand Armenian drams.
The police and the investigative department are undertaking necessary operational and investigative actions to solve the crime and identify the thief or thieves as well as the stolen goods.
According to the photographer's report, S. Santrosyan stated that he works as a teacher at a secondary school at his place of residence.
