An-26 Aircraft Goes Off Grid in Kamchatka: Search Operations Underway
An-26 aircraft in Kamchatka has gone off grid at the designated time, with 28 people on board. This information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the regional head of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry.
It was noted that on July 6, the Crisis Management Center of the Kamchatka Territory's Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry received information that the passenger flight from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana had not established a connection at the specified time.
“Preliminary data indicates that there are 22 passengers, including one child, as well as 6 crew members on board,” the Ministry stated.
Rescuers from the regional search and rescue base have been dispatched to the scene from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Osora Village. Employees of the Kamchatka search and rescue team of the Russian Emergency Ministry are also at the site.
The airline “Kamchatka Airlines” has reported that the crash has not yet been confirmed.
The Transport Prosecutor's Office has initiated checks following the disappearance of the An-26 passenger aircraft in Kamchatka, and search operations are ongoing.
