SPORT: Russian Football Player Suddenly Dies on the Field

A football player has suddenly died during a match in the Moscow southwestern league of the Russian amateur championship. This was reported by Sport24. What happened to him is similar to what occurred with Denmark national team midfielder Christian Eriksen, but he could not be saved.

The information has also been confirmed by Dmitry Smirnov, the president of the Russian amateur league. Notably, the player's name was absent from the game roster. Smirnov noted that they are currently trying to ascertain the identity of the deceased player.

“The thing is, the person lost consciousness right at the beginning of the match, meaning there had been no collision or significant fatigue. Additionally, the game was in the evening, so the weather was already cool. This is a rare incident for our league. His name was not on the roster. We are now trying to figure out who he was. I believe his friend invited him to play,” Smirnov’s words were reported by Sport24.
