Tragic Car Accident: 16-Year-Old Dies, 13-Year-Old Fights for Life

Today, June 22, a tragic car accident occurred in the Ararat region. At around 5:30 PM, a KIA Sorento vehicle with license plate 71 AV 999 overturned under still unknown circumstances in the administrative territory of the village of Goravan along the Vedi-Goravan-Ararat highway.

According to Shamshyan.com, two individuals were subsequently transported to the Vedi medical center, receiving initial aid from bystanders and the on-site medical team from Vedi Hospital. While senior investigators Gevorg Poghosyan and Anushavan Sagoyan from the 1st platoon of the 2nd police company were working at the accident scene, a call was received at the Ararat police department from the hospital notifying that one of the injured had died.

Upon the order of E. Zolhrabyan, a criminal case has been initiated under the second part of Article 242 of the RA Criminal Code. The police and the investigative department are working to clarify the identity of the driver, the deceased, and the injured.

According to the website's information, the deceased was 16-year-old Martin Vardanyan, a resident of the city of Vedi, and the injured was 13-year-old Edwin Martirosyan, a resident of Yerevan.
