Mihran Poghosyan to Participate in Elections

Former head of the National Security Service Mihran Poghosyan will participate in the extraordinary parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20, 2021. The Administrative Court of Armenia, presided over by Judge Daniel Danielyan and composed of judges Argishti Ghazaryan, Samvel Hovakimyan, Alexandra Harutyunyan, and Mikael Melkumyan, has accepted Mihran Poghosyan's lawsuit against the Central Electoral Commission, declaring invalid the decision to annul the registration of Mihran Poghosyan as a candidate from the "Honorary Have" alliance.

It is important to recall that on June 8, the Central Electoral Commission invalidated Mihran Poghosyan's registration, citing that he has not had a permanent residence in Armenia for the past four years. Mihran Poghosyan filed a lawsuit demanding the annulment of the Central Electoral Commission's decision, which has been upheld by the court. Following the court's ruling, Mihran Poghosyan's previous status is restored, meaning he continues to be registered as a candidate No. 11 on the electoral list of the "Honorary Have" alliance for the June 20, 2021 extraordinary elections.
