Arthur Vanetsyan Shares Good News: 'Hraparak'

The Prime Ministerial candidate of the 'I Have Honor' alliance, Arthur Vanetsyan, discussed his friendship with Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov during an appearance on Yerkir Media. He also shared some good news, stating that Armenia will soon have a new route to Russia, as reported by 'Hraparak'.

“Let me tell the whole truth. I was accused of befriending the head of Chechnya. I believe that Ramzan Kadyrov is a person with whom it is an honor to establish a friendship. Why did I end up in Chechnya and start to befriend Kadyrov? You know that Armenia has only one land route to Russia through the Lars Pass, which either does not operate or is overloaded for six months of the year. Through my investigations, I found out that there is a possibility to have another route through Georgia—the Itum-Kale-Shatili road, which is adjacent to Chechnya,” he stated.

“I spoke with the then Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, with whom I have very good friendly relations, and I told him that there is such a route—Armenia-Georgia-Chechnya—can we build this road and put it into operation? He stated that it was possible from our side if we could agree with Russia. I went to Russia, met with Ramzan Kadyrov, presented this project, and he agreed and expressed his readiness to construct the road. The construction of this road has already begun; only 2 kilometers remain to be built. After its completion, Armenia will have an alternative road to Russia, a road that is not blocked by snow and where there are no issues crossing. Is this good or bad?” he concluded.
