Be Friends or We Will Show Our Power: Kadyrov Advises Biden Before Meeting with Putin
The leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has revealed his expectations ahead of the meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin during an interview with the Kommersant radio station. Kadyrov advised the U.S. leader by stating that if the American side does not accept Moscow's position, "we have levers of influence," and Russia will make them take this into account.
“Russia is a great power. And our president is the best and strongest. It should be no different. Be friends, or we will show what we are capable of,” said the Chechen leader.
In response to a question about what Kadyrov would like to convey to Biden, he expressed a desire for the American president to "remain human." “Trump made a mistake, he flopped. Let Biden build relationships with our state,” Kadyrov concluded.
The meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States is set to take place today at the La Grange villa in Geneva, Switzerland. The parties are expected to discuss bilateral relations, issues of strategic stability, and the international agenda, including cooperation in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and the resolution of regional conflicts.
