124 Names: Intellectuals Supporting Kocharyan
124 intellectuals have issued a call to support the "Armenia" alliance. Dear compatriots,
The Armenian statehood is currently facing the most serious challenges. Due to the disastrous policies of the ruling administration, we were forced into a painful loss of war. The political course followed for three years has plunged our society into a deep moral, political, and security crisis. Our defeats are deepening, prompting the people either to see emigration as a way out or to resign themselves to the inertia of defeat.
At this critical moment, the Armenian intellectual has no moral right to remain silent. On one side is the imperative to halt the loss of Armenian statehood, and on the other, the responsibility for the future has placed us under the obligation to raise our voice.
The June 20th elections will determine the prospects for the Armenian people as a nation with unified goals and the existence of the Armenian state.
We, the undersigned intellectuals, are convinced that at this fateful moment, the preferred force contending for the future of the Republic of Armenia is the "ARMENIA" alliance, where united national and state political forces and figures are capable of halting the disintegration of the country with the utmost dedication, strengthening Armenian statehood, and restoring our wounded dignity.
Dear compatriots, at this decisive moment, we do not have the right to be deceived again; let us unite around the "ARMENIA" alliance for the sake of our generations, to continue our creative journey, and for the real victories of the Armenian people.
