A Citizen Attempts Self-Immolation on Saryan Street in Yerevan
On June 15, at 12:55 PM, the National Crisis Management Center received a call about a fire breaking out in one of the apartments at building number 44 on Saryan Street in Yerevan. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
Four fire and rescue units, one aerial ladder, and a duty psychologist from the Psychological Support Division rushed to the scene.
It was determined that the incident involved an attempted self-immolation, which was averted by local forces. Before the arrival of the rescuers, the individual was hospitalized with varying degrees of burns.
While trying to assist the individual attempting self-immolation, an inspector from the enforcement service and an employee of the Center for Social Services suffered varying degrees of bodily burns and were also hospitalized.
