Murdered Debtor, Transported Body to Field Area and Buried it
The extensive and urgent investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Abovyan investigative division of the Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee have clarified several circumstances surrounding the murder of a resident from the village of Jrvezh, including the motive and the identity of the alleged perpetrator.
According to the factual data obtained during the investigation, the victim, who was living in the Federal Republic of Germany with his wife and children, was engaged in the sale of cars, including the transportation of these vehicles to Armenia. In July 2020, he returned to Armenia and settled in the village of Jrvezh in the Kotayk province. He was supported in this process by an acquaintance, who operated a car repair service next to his house.
Between 2019-2020, the resident of Jrvezh sold four cars of the 'MERCEDES-BENZ' brand, worth a total of 11,000,000 AMD, to his acquaintance based on a verbal agreement, with the condition of paying in installments. Additionally, he sold construction tools worth 4,000,000 AMD. As a result, the man was obligated to return around 15,000,000 AMD in installments but only partially fulfilled his obligations by returning only 1,500,000 AMD.
In an attempt to evade the obligation of returning the outstanding debt of a significantly large amount and to gain some material benefit, he decided to unlawfully deprive the debtor of life. On October 31, 2020, at 13:55, the victim visited the car repair service belonging to his acquaintance alone, where during an argument, the latter deliberately deprived the Jrvezh resident of life to implement his criminal intent. He then transported the victim's body to a field area in the administrative territory of the village of Kaputan in the Kotayk province and buried it under the soil.
On April 28, 2021, the victim’s body was discovered at that location with injuries to the skull area. With a sufficient combination of obtained evidence, on June 9, 2021, a decision was made to involve the victim's acquaintance as an accused under Article 104, Part 2, Clause 8 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and he was declared wanted. Arrest was chosen as a precautionary measure against him. Measures are being taken to locate him and clarify all circumstances of the case. The preliminary investigation continues.
