Shooting in Armavir Region: 29-Year-Old Man Dies on the Spot

On June 14, a murder occurred in the Armavir region. At 1:20 AM today, the police received a report from the Armavir Medical Center that the body of a young man with a gunshot wound had been brought in.

According to shamshyan.com, police operatives from the Armavir regional police department and the Baghramyan police station, along with a team from the Armavir regional division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, were dispatched to the hospital.

The investigation revealed that the victim was 29-year-old Arthur Papoyan, a resident of the village of Vanand in Armavir region. It was also determined that on June 14, around 9:30 PM, a conflict arose between 34-year-old Zakaria Galoyan, a resident of Vanand, and individuals from the village of Ervandashat: 33-year-old Seryozha Badazaryan, 33-year-old Manvel Asatryan, and other unidentified persons, regarding domestic issues, near the inactive garages at the outskirts of Vanand.

During the altercation, Zakaria Galoyan fired shots with a smoothbore hunting rifle registered in his name, resulting in one shot striking Arthur Papoyan, causing his death. A total of four fired cartridges of 12 mm caliber were found at the scene.

The suspect, Zakaria Galoyan, as well as the firearm used in the crime, have been located. Police and the investigative department are undertaking the necessary operational and investigative measures to fully determine the identities of all participants in the conflict and to locate them.

Zakaria Galoyan has been arrested under the criminal case initiated by the Armavir regional investigative department regarding the incident.
