Georgia Overcomes the Third Wave of COVID-19
The head of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health of Georgia, Amiran Gamkrelidze, has announced that the peak of the third wave of coronavirus has been overcome, according to vestikavkaza.ru.
"We have started to see a decline. We have completely passed the peak of the third wave in the country and in Adjara. The epidemiological situation is calming down across the country, and all parameters and indicators confirm this," said Gamkrelidze.
According to him, this is not an occasion for relaxation, as the pandemic continues. "The path to ending the pandemic is through vaccination. Our goal is to vaccinate 1.7 million people. If we follow the recommendations and get vaccinated, then the likelihood of a fourth wave of coronavirus is low," added Gamkrelidze.
