Extraordinary Incident in Sevan: Brawl in Kindergarten Yard Ends in Stabbings
An extraordinary incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region yesterday. At approximately 22:50, the Sevan Medical Center notified the Sevan police department that a citizen had been transported there with a "penetrating stab wound to the chest," according to shamshyan.com.
Shortly thereafter, another alert was received from the same hospital, reporting that another citizen had been brought in with a "fractured chest, penetrating stab wound to the wall, wounds to the tendons of the right elbow, and vascular injuries." A little while later, two more citizens were reported to have been transported with diagnoses of "penetrating stab wounds to the chest" and later, "penetrating stab wounds to the left side of the chest." Doctors informed the police and investigators that the injured individuals were unable to provide explanations.
While doctors fought for the lives of the injured, the police and investigators clarified that the injured were 22-year-old Narek M. from Zovaber village, 23-year-old Tigran Sh. from Ddmashen village, 20-year-old Tigran D. from Sevan city, and 21-year-old Arsen A. from Sevan city.
According to photographer sources, officers and investigators from the Gegharkunik regional police department, the Sevan police department, and the Sevan investigative division, have carried out extensive operational-investigative measures. It was determined that on the same day, around 21:30, near a kindergarten on Shahumyan street in Sevan, 18-year-old Robert K., 20-year-old Gor S., 17-year-old Narek K., 18-year-old Edgar Kh., and 20-year-old Artur Kh., all residents of Sevan, had an altercation with Narek M., Tigran Sh., Tigran D., Arsen A., 21-year-old Kamo S. from Sevan, 23-year-old Mikael V. from Sevan, and a certain "Abuli."
According to preliminary information, during the brawl, Gor S. inflicted wounds on Tigran Sh. with a knife he had on him, after which he made erratic movements with the knife. During this, Robert K. also struck Narek M. with a knife he had, causing bodily harm to various parts of his body, and continued to strike other participants in the brawl. These operationally obtained details are being clarified.
The police and the investigative department are undertaking necessary operational-investigative and joint actions to ascertain the full details of all participants in the brawl and to recover the knives used in the crime. According to journalist sources, two of the injured, one of whom is in critical condition, have been transported to one of Yerevan's hospitals, and the cause of the brawl was reported to be smoking.
