I Would Like to Hear Clearly in What Our Government's Betrayal Lies: Pashinyan to Representatives of the Armenian Community in France

During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community at the Armenian embassy in France, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that the visit is taking place during challenging times. According to a correspondent from Armenpress in Paris, he expressed gratitude for the organization of this meeting, noting that our state is facing serious challenges and that such discussions are crucial for diagnosing issues.

Pashinyan suggested that he would like to dive directly into answering questions rather than giving a long preamble. He emphasized that the Q&A session is meaningful when the most complex and unpleasant questions are raised.

“Our beloved compatriots were protesting not far from the embassy. That is their right; however, I believe it is a way of evading the issue. I would like to hear clearly in what our government’s betrayal lies. I am attentive to the accusations made against us and listen to all arguments,” said Pashinyan.

Armenian community representative and public figure Robert Aidabiryants noted that he spoke with the protestors. “I explained that we are meeting with a representative of the state; our issue is not with our state but with our enemies, and let’s sit together and talk,” stated the community representative.

Expressing gratitude for the viewpoints shared, Pashinyan remarked that such discussions are very important. He referred to recent wartime developments and the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. “The paper that we used to halt the war has not actually resolved the issues because the creeping process continues. This understanding has prevented us from solving the Nagorno-Karabakh issue sooner, which is a very profound and complex knot, and its resolution has essentially not been achievable. The challenge is not resolved; the threat remains the same, and that is the biggest problem we have. My understanding is that we must confront these challenges to create a peaceful era for the Armenian people. Years have shown that neither rigidity nor flexibility diminish the aggression toward us, and, furthermore, the question of making the regional environment favorable for us is not being resolved. Our challenge remains the same: how to manage the aggression that has shaped around Armenia,” added Pashinyan.

A group of Armenians organized a protest not far from the Armenian embassy in France to express their dissatisfaction with Pashinyan’s policies. On the way to the embassy, a number of young participants from the protest attempted to obstruct the procession, trying to strike the windows of the slowly moving cars. Security personnel ensured the safe entrance of the convoy into the embassy.
