Russian Peacekeepers Facilitate Movement of Six Azerbaijani Military Columns in Nagorno-Karabakh

The Russian peacekeeping forces continue to fulfill their duties in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Russian peacekeepers are conducting round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and ceasefire regime at 27 observation posts. The ceasefire regime is being maintained along the entire length of the contact line.

“Representatives of the Russian peacekeeping contingent have facilitated the movement of six columns of the Azerbaijani armed forces: four in the northern and southern directions through the Lachin corridor, one through the Shushi-Karmir Shuka-Kajaran route, and one in the opposite direction,” the statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense said.

Russian peacekeepers are ensuring the safe movement of civilians and the restoration of civilian infrastructure. Since November 23, 2020, engineering and demining teams have cleared 2,121 hectares, 657.3 kilometers of roads, and 1,844 buildings from unexploded ordnance, identifying and neutralizing 25,613 explosive hazards.
