Dispute Erupts Between Vacationers and Residents in Dilijan; Gunshots Heard
On May 19, 2021, around 1:00 PM, six residents of Yerevan, who had gone to Dilijan for a one-day vacation, organized a celebration in the yard gazebo of a hotel located on Hakobjanyan Street. Later that evening, two residents of the same street and their friend engaged in a dispute with the visitors from Yerevan in front of the hotel, during which they assaulted each other with stones. One of the visitors fired shots with an illegally possessed firearm.

According to the statement from the Dilijan investigative department of the Tavush regional investigative administration of the Investigative Committee, the investigation has revealed that on the same day at 1:00 PM, six residents from Yerevan who were vacationing in a hotel on Hakobjanyan Street organized a celebration in a gazebo. In the evening, a dispute broke out between two residents of the same street and their friend with the visitors from Yerevan, during which they struck each other with stones, and one of the visitors fired shots with an illegally held pistol.
As a result of the gathered sufficient evidence, four individuals have been charged under part 4 of Article 258 and one person under part 1 of Article 235 and part 4 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The investigation is ongoing.
