Deputy Minister of Defense on Ministry's Actions

The Ministry of Defense presents everything within permissible limits. Everyone is thinking more about our six captives than you are,

said Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan during a conversation with journalists in Parliament. He noted, “These are very delicate questions, the answers to which can be manipulated.”

In response to a question regarding a statement by the Ministry that it would take specific actions if our border is not left, the deputy minister said that everything is being carried out.

When a journalist pointed out that we see results when Armenian servicemen are taken captive from our territory, and if the Ministry is doing something, why does this happen, Arman Sargsyan stated: “The Ministry of Defense is doing everything possible. Our army is taking all necessary actions to avoid provocations. The army is carrying out its operations based on necessary analyses, and all steps are being taken from our side to rectify this situation.”

When asked whether it can be ruled out that such incidents could recur, Arman Sargsyan assured that everything is being done to prevent such occurrences, and all efforts are made to ensure that the captured soldiers return home as soon as possible.

In response to the observation that the area is tense, and why we haven't deployed sufficient forces proportionately, Arman Sargsyan inquired whether we had prior knowledge of the situation.
