All Measures Are Taken to Quickly Return the Captured Personnel: President's Phone Conversation with Defense Minister

President Armen Sarkissian had a phone conversation with the Acting Minister of Defense Vagarshak Harutyunyan, who is currently in Moscow. This was reported by the Public Relations Department of the President's Office.

The Acting Minister of Defense informed the President about another incident of breaches of Armenia's borders by Azerbaijan in the Gegharkunik region and the capture of Armenian soldiers engaged in engineering works, noting that all measures are being taken for their prompt return.

The conversation also addressed the border situation. The Acting Minister indicated that his visit to Moscow is related to resolving the current situation.

The President deemed it urgent to take necessary measures, utilizing all relevant bodies, the Armenian armed forces, and all diplomatic avenues to ensure the return of our servicemen. He also emphasized that everything must be done to prevent such incidents, and to ensure the safety of our servicemen and citizens, as well as the integrity of our borders.

The President considers the actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces to be a clear violation of international legal norms, which should receive the strongest reaction and assessment from the international community. He stressed the importance of continuing active work with international partners alongside taking appropriate steps.
