Kocharian on Pashinyan's High Rating

Kocharian on Pashinyan's High Rating

All surveys, as far as I know, are conducted by phone, which is generally regarded as credible in countries where there is no internal polarization and where society has a high level of internal trust. This was stated today, on May 25, by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, during a press conference of the 'Armenia' alliance, responding to a question about how they will win if Nikol Pashinyan and his team still have high ratings.

“Now, when a person is dismissed from work for a single like, and pressure starts to be exerted on their relatives, how do you imagine it? There is a segment of the population that does not want to express their opinions because they think they will come under pressure. I have no doubt that the survey conductors are diligent in their work, but the situation in the country is such that I have serious doubts,” Kocharian said.

He also added, “Secondly, we are not saying that the current official has no rating. But we are also confident that having 25-30 percent in parliament makes it impossible to be re-elected as prime minister unless there are other forces willing to cooperate with you. As of now, there is no force on the list of electoral participants from the same field willing to collaborate with the traitors and capable of passing through the parliament. Therefore, it is quite clear that even if we do not manage to reduce that 30 percent to 15-20 percent before the elections, that political force will not be able to form a government and establish control over the executive power. This is obvious. But we will do everything, and we will wear it down until the end.”
