Details about the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces

The newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Asryan, has family members who are citizens of the Russian Federation. This information was provided to Tert.am by the Anti-Corruption Committee.

His wife, underage daughter, and son are all Russian citizens. Edward Asryan previously owned a villa in Hadrut, which is now under Azerbaijani control.

His salary from the Armed Forces amounts to 5 million 370 thousand drams, as he held the position of head of the operational department of the Armed Forces General Staff prior to this appointment. In 2019, he reported an income of 1 million drams from the Ministry of Defense through a lease, and he currently has a loan of 88 million drams.
