Azerbaijan is attempting to prolong the return of our citizens to the homeland with false accusations, Nazeli Baghdasaryan

Member of Parliament Nazeli Baghdasaryan wrote on her Facebook page that the groundless judicial process against two citizens of Armenia, Alyosha Khosrovyan and Lyudvig Mkrtchyan, initiated in a Baku court, is nothing but another blatant manifestation of Azerbaijan’s violation of international humanitarian law. Our captured citizens have been illegally held in Azerbaijan for months, and now they are being subjected to false charges in an attempt to hold them accountable.

The official position of Armenia on this issue remains unchanged regarding the implementation of the provisions of the statement signed on November 9, including the safe repatriation of prisoners and civilians captured and the issues related to establishing stability and peace in the conflict zone.

I want to emphasize once again that our captured citizens are primarily protected by the provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Geneva Third Convention. Moreover, any assault on our captured compatriots already undermines the implementation of the agreements recorded in the trilateral statement.

In fact, despite our numerous claims and the response of international organizations, Azerbaijan continues to violate human rights and is now attempting to prolong the return of our citizens to their homeland with yet another false accusation.
