«Aliyev Sets the Agenda Himself» – Karen Hovhannisyan
Military expert Karen Hovhannisyan wrote on his Facebook page: “The dictator of Baku sets the agenda himself. Today, the dictator of Baku is trying to artificially remove the issue of Artsakh from the agenda of the supposed upcoming Armenian-Azerbaijani contacts, considering it resolved. The detention of prisoners by Azerbaijan is not so much about conceding any territory or road, but simply to keep the theme as a primary issue on our agenda.
Today, he has also added to this the situation created in Syunik and Gegharkunik, as well as the establishment of a commission for demarcation with a false agenda. After the active phase of war, the Baku dictator has stated several times that if you are worried about the Armenians of Artsakh, then gather them and take them from there. This means that the Baku dictator hints that Artsakh will meet the fate of Nakhchivan.
One should not believe and trust any backstage words or oaths of the Baku dictator; one cannot believe any promises and try to squeeze some guarantees through direct contact; this is self-deception. The Baku dictator has confidently stated for several years that he will solve any problem through warfare, so it would be better to focus on urgently modernizing the army, equipping it with targeted weaponry, and creating favorable conditions to engage a competent officer corps in the processes.
Today, any claim, demand, or precondition put forward by Azerbaijan should be countered with the fact of their illegal detention of prisoners of war. Therefore, the claims, demands, and preconditions should not be accepted and placed on the table as discussion materials.”
