Why the Ministry of Defense Denied Then Confirmed the News of a Clash Between Armenians and Azerbaijanis
A mass brawl occurred along the entire length of the border between our soldiers and Azerbaijani soldiers. This was announced today by acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, explaining the recent incident in Vardenis.
“People are asking why the Ministry of Defense denied and then confirmed it. You know that the Ministry of Defense receives reports about attacks, did we retreat? They report the end results. They cut 3 minutes from a 2-hour video and give it to Azerbaijani agents. They then spread that information,” he said.
According to Pashinyan, it is important for the Ministry of Defense to be honest and candid with the people about the situation. He also addressed the gunfire heard earlier today in the Kut area, noting that the situation remains tense.
“The situation is very tense; no one should underestimate it. Today, there was gunfire in the Kut region, but later both sides agreed that it was a misunderstanding, and they came to discuss that they did not fire at each other, but rather it is about an incident,” the acting prime minister stated.
