New Format for Entering the National Assembly: "Hraparak"
"Hraparak" newspaper reports: The snap parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20 promise to be unprecedentedly tense. The main political forces have started to position themselves and strengthen their lists and teams as much as possible. The situation has reached the point where opposition figures are trying to find common ground with former members of the "My Step" faction, who, according to some sociological surveys, enjoy relatively high ratings in their regions, but do not wish to re-enter the National Assembly alongside Nikol Pashinyan's team. In other words, they must participate under the banner of a political party or alliance.
Sources from the newspaper indicate that the opposition forces are having separate discussions with these MPs, offering some an opportunity to join them, stand in winnable positions, and after entering the National Assembly, function in a de facto independent capacity while continuing to address the issues of the people in their regions. This individual will only "owe" their party to the votes they bring from their respective area. If this model works, everyone will be satisfied: the people will continue to have their representative in the National Assembly in exchange for supporting parties like "Armenia," "Honorary Duty," or the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), while also having a effectively independent parliament member under the formal guise of a party or an alliance.
