Ministry of Defense Releases Statement: New Details from the Border

In the context of provocations carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on May 12 and 13, as of the morning of May 18, no changes have been reported.

The Ministry of Defense reports that the situation remains relatively calm, with Armenian military units preventing attempts by Azerbaijani soldiers to breach into the territory of Armenia.

The situation is fully controlled by the Armenian Armed Forces along the entire front line in both the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions. Negotiations on a full resolution of the situation are expected to continue tomorrow, May 19.

The Armenian Armed Forces emphasize the necessity of a peaceful resolution to the issue while being prepared for any developments that may arise. They stress that incursions into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia are absolutely unacceptable. Azerbaijani soldiers are obligated to leave the territory of the Republic of Armenia unconditionally and to refrain from similar provocations in the future.
