Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan May Be Summoned for Questioning: "Zhoghovurd"
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports: "Discussions have begun within the law enforcement system regarding the criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia. It is known that a criminal case has been opened by the military investigation department of the Investigative Committee related to the events of May 12, when the Azerbaijani side managed to cross the Armenian border.
The criminal case has been initiated under the provisions of Article 376, Part 2 (Negligence in the performance of duties) and Article 365, Part 3 (Violation of the rules of combat duty or combat service) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. According to the information we have obtained, there is a discussion in the law enforcement system that the questioning should start with the Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan following the initiation of this criminal case.
It has been expressed that if no investigations are started regarding the Chief of General Staff or his leadership and no charges are brought against him, then all of this would be merely a show. There is also an opinion within the law enforcement system that the primary responsibility lies with Artak Davtyan. Now, it remains to be understood whether the initiation of this criminal case was just a show, a step to release steam, or if actual actions will be taken." More details in today's newspaper issue.
