Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Alexander Dvornikov Discuss the Situation in Syunik

On May 14, Acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan received the Commander of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Alexander Dvornikov, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit. (It should be noted that the 102nd Russian military base located in Armenia falls under the jurisdiction of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces).

During the meeting, the situation in the Syunik region and potential solutions were discussed, in addition to the reforms initiated within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. The conversation also touched upon issues related to regional security.

The interlocutors highly appreciated the level of bilateral military cooperation and expressed confidence that the planned programs will be implemented on time and in full.

It is noteworthy that, as reported, the acting minister hosted Army General Alexander Dvornikov at one of Yerevan’s restaurants.
