The Security of the Country and the Integrity of Its Borders Are Non-Negotiable: Presidential Administration

The office of the President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has issued a statement regarding the situation in the country. It states:

“The situation in Syunik is regarded by President Armen Sarkissian as extremely concerning, and he considers it vital to find a prompt resolution. It is urgent and imperative to undertake all measures to unconditionally protect the interests and safety of the Republic of Armenia and its citizens. The President and his administration are in constant communication with the relevant state authorities. Information is also being received directly from the Syunik region. The President's position is that the security of the country and the integrity of its borders are non-negotiable; any encroachment on them is condemnable and must be met with a clear and decisive reaction, as well as an international response. The Azerbaijani side bears full responsibility for any further escalation of the situation and for undermining an already sensitive regional context.”
