They Came to Set Up Observation Posts but Got Lost, Claims Syunik Governor as MoD Issues Contradictory Statement

Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan has claimed that the opposing forces have not advanced, but rather got lost. "In Syunik, the enemy has not advanced in any area: they came to set up observation posts and got lost. No violation of the state border of Armenia can occur; this is impossible, I am telling you," Poghosyan said in an interview with Factinfo. He also mentioned that he is traveling to Lake Sevan to familiarize himself with the situation on the ground.

Meanwhile, Goris Deputy Mayor Menua Hovsepyan reported that the opposing forces advanced toward the Ishkhanasar direction in the Syunik region overnight without firing a single shot. "Negotiations are ongoing; there are no battles occurring. We did not have soldiers there to engage in fighting. The area has been free; who should they have fought against?" Hovsepyan stated to Factinfo.

Former Syunik Governor Vahe Hakobyan also noted that the opposing forces advanced from the Kelbajar region with over 200 troops and cut off our positions from the road leading to Armenia. The Armenian Ministry of Defense confirmed that this morning, Azerbaijani forces attempted to conduct certain works in one of the border areas of Syunik under the pretext of "clarifying borders." Following actions taken by Armenian units, the Azerbaijani military ceased those activities.

"Currently, negotiations are underway to resolve the situation," the Ministry of Defense reported, contradicting the Governor of Syunik's claim that the enemy got lost. If they got lost, then what negotiations are taking place? They could simply have been shown the road leading back to Azerbaijan, or they could have been detained as saboteurs.

It is evident that the official news continues to provide false and conflicting information without learning lessons from the 44-day war.
