Human Rights Defender Calls for Avoidance of Panic-Inducing Information Regarding the Situation of Armenia's Borders

The situation regarding Armenia's borders in the Syunik province has been under the direct attention of the Human Rights Defender since early morning. This was reported by the Human Rights Defender's Office.

The Defender emphasizes that issues related to the borders understandably generate significant public interest and sensitivity, and the public has the right to receive complete, clear, and reliable information about the situation in a timely manner.

Therefore, competent authorities must make every effort to disseminate official information as widely as possible in the information space, thereby preventing the spread of misinformation.

Alongside this, the Human Rights Defender's staff has also noted disinformation that causes panic and tension regarding the borders of Armenia. The Defender urges media outlets and social media users to refrain from spreading such information.

Both the Defender personally and the staff are in contact with local and state authorities, and necessary measures are also being taken within the scope of the Human Rights Defender's jurisdiction.
