Combat Preparedness Inspections Conducted at Lusakert and Other Military Units

The 3rd Army Corps is conducting military exercises in accordance with its 2021 plan. This was announced to the media by the head of the Information Department of the Organizational Directorate of the RA Armed Forces General Staff, Colonel Samvel Asatryan, who urged to refrain from providing information to the enemy through open sources on social networks.

According to the colonel, the military supervisory service of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia is carrying out combat preparedness inspections at the Lusakert and other military units.

Previously, residents of the regions reported that a mobilization was taking place. In particular, residents of the Aragatsotn region indicated that reservists were being summoned. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia stated that no mobilization is currently being conducted for any purpose.

The only cause for concern among citizens may be that military commissariats might contact them to update their information, as has happened in the past.

It should also be noted that hours earlier, reports circulated that Azerbaijani soldiers had moved about 3 km into the territory of Armenia in the Syunik region. According to the Armenian Ministry of Defense, in the early morning of May 12, the Azerbaijani armed forces attempted to carry out some activities in one of the border sections of Syunik under the pretext of 'border clarification.' After measures taken by Armenian units, Azerbaijani soldiers stopped these activities. Currently, negotiations are ongoing to resolve the created situation.
