Calm Situation in Ishkhanasar: No Fights or Gunfire, Asst. Mayor
The situation in Ishkhanasar is calm, said the village head Marat Petrosyan to Aysor.am. "Nothing has happened in Ishkhanasar; we have a 'polygon'; maybe the firing is from the 'polygon'. In general, it’s peaceful here," he stated.
The village head noted that there is neither a fight nor any gunfire. "The peacekeeping forces are stationed; disgraceful things have been written, and I follow every step closely," Petrosyan added.
He mentioned that there might be some activity on the Goris side. "But everything is normal here; there is nothing in Syunik; may your pain be gone; let them not create problems for this people," the head of Ishkhanasar said.
It is worth noting that Goris's deputy mayor Irina Yolyan reported that the enemy had crossed the state border at the Ishkhanasar section and moved forward by a kilometer with hundreds lined up.
Goris's other mayor, Menua Hovhannesyan, also mentioned that the Turks have advanced in the area of Lake Sevan and are attempting to establish a position. The Ministry of Defense issued a statement confirming that Azerbaijan had attempted to conduct operations in Syunik, but following measures taken by Armenian units, Azerbaijani forces ceased those operations. Currently, negotiations are ongoing to resolve the created situation.
